The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.


This year LWVP is sponsoring an essay contest open to all high school juniors and seniors currently enrolled in Piedmont High School or Millennium High School.

2019 Holiday Luncheon with Louise Renne

We had an amazing Holiday Luncheon with speaker Louise Renne this year.  Her focus and ability to get things done as a public lawyer in the face of challenges is inspiring.  We had a great turnout, with approximately fifty people in attendance.

Great Decisions 2020

The League of Women Voters of Piedmont is pleased to announce that we are now forming groups to participate in the 2020 Great Decisions (GD) discussion program on global affairs sponsored by the Foreign Policy Association.


We were fortunate to have a stellar list of speakers last year.  The League would like to thank each of them for their contribution to expanding our knowledge of critical issues facing voters.

Civics in Action Award 2019

The LWVP is delighted to announce that senior (now graduate) Laura Bryan was recognized by the Civics Department at PHS with the LWV Civics In Action Award. 


The 2019 edition of Great Decisions wound up its year last week with a stimulating discussion about the “marginalization” of diplomacy and the State Department under the Trump administration.

LWV Making Democracy Work

The League of Women Voters of Piedmont sent the following letter to the Piedmont Mayor addressing the League's concern that the City of Piedmont should pay our fair share for library services and have a more concrete agreement with the City of Oak

The Appreciating Diversity Film Series is a collaborative program of the Piedmont Appreciating Diversity Committee, DiversityWorks, and the Piedmont Chapter of the League of Women Voters. We endeavor to show six documentary films a year, each followed by some form of community dialogue. The mission of the Appreciating Diversity Film Series is:
